Psychologists study the way people feel, think, act and interact. Through a range of strategies and therapies they aim to reduce distress and promote and enhance emotional well being.
The consultation fees that psychologists charge vary and depend on the type of service being offered. Since November 2006, some psychology services are covered under Medicare. Private health insurers may also rebate part of the cost of psychological consultations.
